Blake Lively Insists She Wasn’t Throwing Shade At Taylor Swift With ‘Bad Blood’ Joke

Blake Lively swears she wasn’t “throwing shade,” as the kids say these days, at Taylor Swift with her recent Instagram post showing off her recent L’Oreal campaign photo shoot, Us Magazine is reporting.

On Saturday, Blake posted this on Instagram.

“soooo, turns out this WASN’T a video shoot for John Legend’s cover of Bad Blood ?? @lorealparisofficial blew it out for this one. My #pinkobsession is exposed now? Ok your turn. I won’t tell! ? #AlsoTurnsOutJohnLegendIsntCoveringBadBlood Time to start a petition!”

For reasons that aren’t clear, some Taylor Swift fans thought Blake’s post was a dig at Taylor – perhaps, as MSN speculates, Blake was hinting that she wants John Legend to cover Taylor’s song “Bad Blood,” which is somehow an insult to Taylor? There’s also the fact that Taylor Swift’s bestie, Karlie Kloss, appears in the image; Karlie was in the “Bad Blood” music video.

For her part, Taylor Swift hasn’t said a single word about Blake’s Instagram post, but nevertheless, Ms. Lively felt the need to make things right. On Sunday, in another Instagram post, Blake pointed out that she’s a huge fan of Taylor’s and proved it by posting a picture of her young niece backstage at a Taylor Swift concert.

“Umm whoever thought I was throwin shade clearly doesn’t know I have a ‘Taylor Swift Please Be My Wife Voo Doo Doll’ #obsessed Look how rad she is here making my niece Heather feel like a rock star. Love my Canadian family almost as much as I love Taylor Lively. I mean Swift. Ok, FIIINE we can hyphenate our last names. Xo Blake Swift-Lively 4eva”

In fact, introducing your younger relatives to Taylor seems to be something of “thing” in the entertainment industry. As Us Magazine points out, Ben Affleck, Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jessica Alba have all introduced their kids to Taylor.

Fortunately for Blake Lively, she has her own supporters who were quick to point out that all this talk of her “throwing shade” at Taylor was much ado about not a lot.

“Blake is a fan of Taylor. Is just a joke.”

“Omg people need to chill out. She wasn’t dissing anybody. You go Blake!!”

“Didn’t sound like a diss lol”

“I don’t get why some people think she was throwing shade?”

“Some people look for problems where there ain’t none really just get a life”
