Justin Bieber Is Single And Ready To Mingle, But Will Need Help Figuring Women Out

Justin Bieber has clarified with TV host Ellen DeDegeneres that his new smash “What Do You Mean?” is not about his former girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The Canadian superstar set the record straight about his romance miscommunication single during the Tuesday edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, after the popular host quizzed him about his relationship status.

“What Do You Mean?” stormed into the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on September 8. In so doing, simultaneously dethroning The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” and sending Justin into the history books as the youngest male artist to debut atop the 100.

Amid the splash made by the single — which broke Spotify’s first-week streaming record, and (to date) has sold 496,692 downloads in the U.S. in the first two weeks of its release — the gossip press and fans speculated that the song was about Justin’s famously on-again, off-again relationship with Selena.

When DeGeneres grilled the Biebs, asking, “It seems like it’s about just one woman. Does it rhyme with Melena?” he shifted around in his seat playing with his hat and hair, before — de facto — saying the song was not about his ex.

“I wrote the song for women in general,” the heartthrob said, adding, “I just never know what women are thinking ’cause it’s just like they say one thing and they mean another thing.”

Justin continued in an impression of a female voice, explaining, “[It’s like], ‘Do this and then don’t do this’ and I’m like ‘What do you mean?'” He elaborated, adding, “Or they’re like kissing you and they push you off, and then I’m like ‘But, why? What’s going on?’ ”

At that point in the interview, DeGeneres quipped in solidarity, “Tell me about it.”

Justin was clear as day when he eventually repeated what he’s been saying all year. “I’m single, ladies, and ready to mingle,” he declared on the show.

When Ellen told him females in the studio audience were interested, the singer qualified, saying, “I’m in a place now. I don’t know if I’m ready for a relationship right now.”

The subject of Justin’s infamous butt Instagram also came up, during a montage of some of the singer’s Instagram shots. The pic in question was taken when the Biebs was on holiday in the Caribbean earlier this year. It went on to attract 1.2 million likes, but the star revealed he removed it when a friend’s young daughter said she was embarrassed by it.

“I felt bad about it,” Justin told Ellen.

A cute moment on the show came when the singer met a young girl called Austynn and her father. After the pair busted out the Whip and Nae-Nae with young girl, Justin invited her to his future tour.

So, what have we learned?

Justin Bieber is single and ready to mingle, but will need some help figuring women out.

Meanwhile, the singer, whose comeback is now soaring, is currently in Berlin, Germany, on a European promo tour for “Mean,” where he been wowing crowds amid attending interviews.
