Taylor Swift Calls Calvin Harris By His Real Name, You’ll Be Shocked Why He Changed It

So, it turns out that Taylor Swift actually doesn’t call her new boyfriend Calvin Harris, Calvin Harris. Instead, she calls him by his real name, Adam.

Us Weekly made this exclusive revelation earlier on Monday, explaining that the 31-year-old DJ’s real name is Adam Richard Wiles, and during their six months of dating, Swift now always calls Calvin by that moniker.

The source explained, “Taylor always calls Calvin by his birth name, Adam, and never Calvin in private.”

The Huffington Post have also discovered why Adam Wiles decided to change his stage name to Calvin Harris. In fact, they found a quote from the DJ all the way back in 2009 that saw explain that he thought the name Calvin Harris sounded more “racially ambiguous,” and as his debut single was a soul track he didn’t want people to immediately assume he was white. Seriously.

Whiles/Harris explained, “My first single was more of a soul track, and I thought Calvin Harris sounded a bit more racially ambiguous. I thought people might not know if I was black or not. After that, I was stuck with it.”

The insider for Us Weekly then continued by insisting, “Taylor gets all dressed and glammed up whenever she is going to see him to look her best.”

Meanwhile, the source also made sure to point out that Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift are still very much in love, by adding that the 25-year-old is “head over heels,” and then revealed, “She hasn’t been in love like this before!”

As has been very well documented, Taylor Swift, as well as being arguably the best singer and songwriter of her generation, has dated several other celebrities since she shot to fame. These have included One Direction’s Harry Style, actor Jake Gyllenhaal, the star of Zodiac and Source Code, John Mayer, and Joe Jonas.

Each of these relationships have failed for a variety of reasons, but doesn’t change the fact that she has written some of the catchiest and most popular songs of the last decade in the shape of “We’re Never Getting Back Together,” “Mean,” and “Shake It Off.”

Harris, who has dated Rita Ora, Anne V, and Aarika Wolf, in recent years, originally started dating Taylor Swift in March 2015.

Speaking to KISS FM UK, via USsMagazine, back in July, Harris spoke glowingly about his relationship with Swift, declaring, “It’s going absolutely fantastic. It’s interesting, because obviously there’s different things written about it every day and even if we don’t do anything publicly for a while, someone will make something up. For me, it could be a lot worse, and I’d still be like insanely happy with her. So, I’m good with it.”
