WWE News: WWE Interested In Bringing Back TNA World Heavyweight Champion Ethan Carter III

WWE has been interested in various wrestlers from all over the world as time has gone on. The biggest rumor in all of pro-wrestling right now is that The Hardy Boyz will be heading back to WWE once their deals with TNA Wrestling come up in February of 2016. Neither are set to re-sign with TNA, as it seems the company is letting all current contracts expire and switching everyone to per-date deals in order to save money.

Many left when their deals have come up, including Samoa Joe and Austin Aries. However, WWE is not just interested in bringing both Matt and Jeff Hardy back to WWE. According to Daily Wrestling News, they are also interested in bringing back current TNA World Heavyweight Champion Ethan Carter III. Known as Derrick Bateman in WWE, he was not successful. WWE barely had him in developmental before throwing him onto the old NXT program that they used to bring rookies onto TV at the time.

The show was a critical failure, but it did help to produce stars like Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett.

Bateman went on to be part of NXT for a while, but the program ended up being cancelled from television and moved to WWE.com before being used a local show then finally ending up on the WWE Network. WWE simply had too many stars with the company at the time Bateman was there, so he decided to leave to hopefully get some time on another show and display what WWE missed out on. He did just that, as Ethan Carter III was born and became a huge success.

EC3 Champ

EC3 has become a major star in pro wrestling, and with TNA potentially going downhill, WWE wants to bring Ethan Carter III back to WWE. Now that WWE NXT exists and WWE knows they have multiple shows to help elevate Ethan Carter III if he chose to come back, it makes sense to think that WWE won’t make the same mistake twice with him and would use him in a big way.

Carter has shown that he can be a top star if given the chance, and WWE realizes that they need more stars for the future. While Carter is 32 years old and would possibly be 33 by the time WWE brought him back, he is in terrific shape with a lack of serious injuries in his career. He fits the mold of what WWE wants in a star. With his improved mic and in-ring work, it only makes sense to think that Ethan Carter III could work well in another WWE run.

WWE will clearly have to change his name when he comes back, but most feel WWE won’t have him use his old name. Rather, they will stick to the gimmick that is working and bring him back with something similar.

There is a thought that Ethan Carter III would be interested in a return if the deal was right. Due to WWE now having a spot where he can be a major star, Carter could easily slip right back in and slowly rise up the WWE ranks yet again. It is said that Triple H was always a fan of his, and with the backing of other WWE Superstars like Seth Rollins, it only makes sense to think Carter would be used in a big way if he came back. It will be interesting to see what he decides.
