Bindi Irwin Reveals Nerves, Reason She Turned Down ‘DWTS’ Before

Bindi Irwin is prepared to make her big premiere on Dancing with the Stars tonight for Season 21, but that doesn’t mean that she isn’t nervous about it. Zap2It was able to catch up with her before her big dance and found out how Bindi is feeling about getting on the dance floor. Bindi is nervous, but she sees the positive in that, saying “the day that you don’t get those butterflies is the day you have to quit because it doesn’t excite you anymore.”

Irwin admits that she feels like the dance floor and the judges are both scary, but it will be worth it to step out of her comfort zone. Bindi shared that even though they are competing, the cast is supporting each other, which, of course, helps a lot. They are like one big family according to Irwin.

The crazy thing is Bindi Irwin actually turned down Dancing with the Stars when they came to her before wanting her to join the show. E! Online shared that the timing just wasn’t right for Irwin, but this time it worked out.

“I was approached once before, and I said, oh my goodness! We were in the middle of our crocodile research trip and it was all happening, so it worked out really well that we were able to join this season… It was perfect timing. I really jumped at the opportunity because it was something so new, so it was kind of like, aahhh, yes, let’s do it! Let’s try this, and see where it takes us.”

Bindi Irwin is not the only person to turn down Dancing with the Stars before. Nick Carter, who is on this season as well, turned down the show. This was about five years ago when he was busy touring with the Backstreet Boys and didn’t have the time to do the show.

Tonight, fans can see Bindi Irwin on the big premiere of Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars. Hopefully, Irwin’s nerves can help her to do amazing on the dance floor and not slow her down.
