Terrence Howard Assaulted By Girlfriend

Actor Terrence Howard, was assaulted earlier this month according to police. An affidavit of probable cause filed at the 38-1-23 district court in Lafayette Hill says that Howard and his current girlfriend were at home when May Seng Yang, a former girlfriend of Howard, showed up and was freaking out outside of the house. Then she got Howard to come out and assaulted him.

Yang currently faces charges of simple assault, defiant trespass, harassment, and disorderly conduct.

The incident took place on May 6th. Police who were dispatched to the scene said that when they arrived they spoke with Howard. He had told them that he and Yang had been together off and on for many years, but this time when Howard ended it for good Yang did not listen and continued to try to contact him.

After Yanh assaulted him Howard told police he really didn’t want to file a police report.

Howard said in an affidavit,

“his career places him in the public eye, and he did not wish to garner any unnecessary attention,”

Yang, on the other hand, told police that Howard had attacked her for no reason, smacking her in the face, choking her, and throwing her to the ground. The problem with Yang’s story was she changed the order in which he assaulted her each time she told the story. Then she couldn’t answer whether he had used an open slap or closed fist. She settled on a closed fist. The other issue was that Yang only had a tiny scratch over her eye and, most likely, if Howard had hit her he would have caused a lot more damage according to police.

Yang also claimed that she came to the house to get her cell phone, then changing her story to say Howard and his girlfriend had taken her cell phone and smashed it at the scene. No pieces of any cell phone were found.
