Lydia Hearst and Chris Hardwick Are Now Engaged
Lydia Hearst, 30-year-old heiress of the Hearst publication fortune and also actress/model, said “yes” to boyfriend Chris Hardwick, 43-year-old Talking Dead host yesterday night (September 12) when he asked her to marry him at the 2015 Creative Arts Emmys. Lydia and her man broadcasted to the world their love for each other and the good news of their engagement from both Hearst and Hardwick’s social media accounts.
Lydia and her man looked very happy to be together on the red carpet before the award ceremony. Hearst wasn’t rocking the ring yet, but she still looked beautiful in a red dress and braided hair.
According to People, Hearst was with the Nerdist CEO when he won the Emmy for Best Creative Achievement in Interactive Media for his Comedy Central show @midnight with Chris Hardwick. Building on to the jubilation of winning the award, Chris asked Lydia to marry him with a very special Hearst family heirloom.
The ring that he gave Lydia is apparently one passed down from her grandmother, and given to Chris by Patricia Hearst, the mother of Lydia.
And if that isn’t sweet enough, Hardwick posted a picture of the rock with an even sweeter caption expressing his joy that Lydia said yes.

This ring belonged to her grandmother Catherine Hearst and @patriciahearst has graciously and wonderfully passed it down to me to give to Lydia. IT’S OFFICIAL!!! Hearst also commemorated the event on her own Instagram with a black and white picture of the couple kissing. Lydia commented on the picture stating how happy she was to be with her fiancé and how much better he made her life.
“I said YES!!!!!! 💍 Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite. You completely swept me off my feet. You have shown me what it feels like to be loved and I love you with all my heart. My life is better because you are in it @nerdist.”
Lydia didn’t want the attention to be taken off of Hardwick’s achievement though. Earlier today, Hearst posted a picture on instagram congratulating her man on his award.

Lydia Hearst has been dating the new Emmy-winner since December of 2014.
