Demi Lovato Bisexual? Singer Hints About Her Sexuality
The Demi Lovato bisexual rumors have been circulating for some time. They picked up steam again when the former Disney star released her song “Cool For The Summer” last month. The suggestive lyrics have left some of Demi’s fans wondering if she’s truly bisexual.
Demi Lovato made an appearance during Alan Carr’s Chatty Man show on Friday night. The 23-year-old singer made an appearance on the British late-night talk show to promote her new single “Cool For the Summer,” which includes racy lyrics like “It’s OK, I’m a little curious too” and “got a taste for the cherry, I just need to take a bite.” Some of Lovato’s fans thinks she’s hinting about having an affair with a woman in the song.
Alan asked Demi if the song was about experimenting with lesbianism. She was coy on answering or confirming about whether or not she’s bisexual.
“I’m not confirming, and I’m not definitely not denying. All my songs are based off personal experiences. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with experimentation at all.”
Carr joked that he “experimented once and it stuck.” Lovato responded, “I didn’t say it didn’t stick either.”
So, did Demi Lovato confirm that she’s bisexual or that she’s experimented with women? Demi’s comments still make some of her fans confused.
When asked about the similarity of her song to Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl,” Demi Lovato’s rep told BuzzFeed Music that “Demi’s just young and having fun.”
“She’s in the driver’s seat for the first time in her career and she’s going to sing about whatever she wants to sing about.”
That’s the exact same comments that Lovato told Carr during her interview.
“I think there was something very liberating over this past year when I really honestly stopped caring. Now if I see a comment it doesn’t affect me because I’ve become so confident and so comfortable in my own skin that it doesn’t affect me as much as it used to.”
Back in 2013, before she started breaking hearts on Orange Is The New Black, Ruby Rose, confirmed that she was one of the alleged women that Demi slept with.
In light of the singer’s nude photo scandal, the actress took to social media to say, “I’m like the one person Demi has slept with that didn’t sell naked photos of her.”
An inside source told Life & Style Magazine that Lovato and Rose dated for two years when she was on a break from her long-term relationship with Wilmer Valderrama. Lovato has never addressed the dating rumors.
Demi Lovato is an outwardly spoken LGBT ally. In addition, she made an appearance on Glee as Santana’s girlfriend. So it wouldn’t come as a surprise to her fans called the “Lovatics,” if she came out as bisexual.
