Mom Viral Letter To Son: Mom Pens Epic Letter To Rude, Entitled 13-Year-Old Son, Lesson Captivates Social Media [Photo]

One mom was absolutely fed up with her 13-year-old son’s sense of entitlement and lack of appreciation for the hard work she puts in as a parent. While all children are probably oblivious to everything their parents do to ensure their lives are comfortable, apparently, this woman’s son has taken his lack of regard to a whole new level.

According to Mad World News, 13-year-old Aaron actually isn’t like most teens his age because he actually has a source of income. It has been reported that the teen is a popular YouTuber who earns profits from his videos. So, when he began earning his own money, he felt as if he no longer needed to abide by certain rules his mother, Estella Havisham, has in place. According to Kids Spot, Aaron’s mother reached a breaking point when he lied about completing his homework one night and offered a relatively rude response for his actions. So, she decided to remind him of a few things he may not have considered when it comes to making money. Now, her epic letter which details the difference between a son and a “roommate” has gone viral.

For most adults, responsibilities and other obligations come with monetary gain, but apparently, Aaron’s living expenses are still being covered by his mom, who is a single parent. Since he’s decided that he doesn’t want to be controlled, she made it a point to break down just how much adult freedom actually costs. By the end of the letter, she makes it quite clear that there is nothing “free” about adult freedom. Her response to his lackadaisical attitude has gone viral online.

“Since you seem to have forgotten that you are only 13 and I’m the parent and that you won’t be controlled, I guess you will need to learn a lesson in independence,” Havisham wrote. “Also, as you threw in my face that you are making money now, it will be easier to buy back all the items I bought for you in the past.”

Havisham went on to include a price list with the estimated cost of living she’d require for Aaron to live in her home. The living expenses included room and board, Internet costs, electricity expenses for Internet use, and of course, food. By the time she finished, Aaron’s bill totaled more than $700.00 a month.

Rent: $430

Electricity: $116

Internet: $21

Food: $150

However, that’s not all. She also included a number of other weekly obligations required to live in the home and expenses that would need to be paid under a number of insinuating circumstances. For example, if he fails to clean his room and she has to do it, the cleaning cost would be $30 for each service. Havisham concluded with an offer to negotiate if Aaron would rather be her son, instead of a roommate.

Havisham later took to Facebook with an update sharing her son’s reaction to the letter, reports Opposing Views. Apparently, the letter was highly effective because she has revealed that her son is now making a better effort to be more respectful and considerate. Although the mom’s letter has received mixed reviews on social media, most have applauded her for the creative approach.
