Jenelle Evans And Barbara Fight Over Jace: ‘Teen Mom 2’ Custody Battle Update

Jenelle Evans and her mother, Barbara, feuded over the custody of 6-year-old Jace on last night’s new episode of Teen Mom 2 Season 6. During the show, Jenelle Evans and Barbara attended a mediation appointment, where Jenelle Evans proclaimed her desire to be Jace’s primary custodian. According to Jenelle Evans, she should have her son during the week, while Barbara should have him on the weekends.

While Jenelle Evans and her mother hoped to settle their dispute over custody out of court, their appointment didn’t go as planned, which MTV News reported on September 10, and when Jenelle Evans returned home to Nathan Griffith, her then-fiance, she told him she was so “f**king frustrated.”

“She said that he’s comfortable where he is right now, and he should stay there.”

Jenelle Evans’ mother has had full custody of Jace for nearly his entire life, so the change that may be looming has made her understandably upset. During a conversation with a friend, Barbara explained her concerns for Jace.

“I have to go to court against my own daughter. I have a feeling the outcome is going to be bad. You can’t rip a child from the only home he’s ever known — you can’t do that.”

Jenelle Evans and her mother seemed to settle their differences when they attended Jace’s graduation later in the show, but the reality star still feels she should have Jace more than her mother, claiming, “she’s the parent.” However, Barbara wants to do what is in “the best of interest of Jace.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Jenelle Evans has spoken of her plans to regain full custody of Jace in past episodes of the show. During a clip from an earlier episode of the sixth season of Teen Mom 2, shared by People Magazine, Jenelle Evans explained why she would likely keep Jace from her mother at times, and said she often feels that Griffith isn’t on her side.

“If Jace ends up moving down here, I mean, her visiting him… I don’t know how that is going to go because I want full custody now. You know, I’m going to be a little selfish for a while and keep him to myself. Not every single weekend, maybe once a month.

Everyone can keep me from my son, but when Jenelle wants to keep him from Barbara and let her see him once a month, it’s a big issue. I don’t know how I feel about this because every time an issue comes up, it’s like Nathan is never my teammate.”
