Sneak Peek Of ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season Six On Location In Girona, Spain [Videos]
Anyone fancy a sneak peek into the upcoming Season 6 of the popular HBO series Game of Thrones? Despite the fact that filming is being carried out under strict security on a heavily-guarded set, photos and videos have emerged of production shooting scenes from Game of Thrones Season 6 in Girona, Spain.
The medieval city of Girona is yet another of several cities in Spain chosen as ideal and historic shooting locations for Game of Thrones Season 6. Filming of the new season is currently ongoing in the Catalan city of Girona, starting on September 3 and running through to September 18.
As reported a while back by the Inquisitr, tours have even been set up of the various Game of Thrones filming locations, including the Real Alcazar Palace in Seville, the bull ring in Osuna, and the Roman Bridge in Cordoba. No doubt the latest locations will be added on to those tours.

Local residents in the city of Girona have been lucky enough to spot several of the key actors in the popular HBO series, including Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) in the streets of their town.

With cameras and phones at the ready and despite heavy security, several images have appeared on Twitter of the making of a scene from the upcoming season.

Actress Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark on the hit show, was reportedly thrilled with the welcome she received from fans outside Girona Cathedral and tweeted her thanks.

According to the Local, once shooting in Girona is complete, Game of Thrones production will move on to northern Navarre, followed by Peniscola in the east of Spain and finally Almería in the south in October, where scenes will be shot on the Alcazaba walled fortification in the city.
