As Fox 6 Now reported, the very large house in Vevay, Indiana, is known as the “River House,” and it is located along State Road 156. It is over 4,000 square feet and has a number of amazing amenities such as a fireplace, vaulted ceilings, two jet tubs, and a great room that includes panoramic views of the river.

Making things even better is that it really is being sold for just $199.

The catch is that you have to write an essay that is persuasive to homeowner Rhonda Pennington as to why she should sell the house to you. A lot of thought has to go into the essay, but not a lot of work, as it has to be less than 200 words.

“I do not want the job to judging the essays, that would be tough,” said Rhonda Penninigton. ” I graduated from Hanover College, I am an alum. I contacted them and they are supplying an anonymous panel of judges to judge… They pick the winner.”

Each $199 payment received in the River House Contest goes into an escrow account for the sale of the house.

The River House Essay Contest is going to be judged by a panel of independent judges provided by Hanover College. Pennington said that they were attempting to sell the home through more conventional methods, but two newspaper stories about homes being given away in Alabama and Maine via essay contests changed their minds.

The essays they receive will be judged on four areas:

1. Does it follow the topic? (1 point)
2. Is it grammatically correct? (1 point)
3. Does it show creativity? (2 points)
4. Most importantly, does it provide inspiration/vision? (6 points)

All those that enter the contest simply need to write the essay that tells the story of “why you would like to own the River House.”

Rhonda Pennington believes that her home, the River House, in Vevay, Indiana, is one that could truly change the life of someone. That is why she is giving everyone that wants to write an essay and pay $199 a chance to win a dream home that could really make a difference.
