‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ Trailer ‘Hallways’ Finally Drops [Video]

American Horror Story: Hotel has finally released a teaser trailer for its upcoming season of American Horror Story. The season, which features the likes of Matt Bomer and Lady Gaga, has several first looks at characters that will be on the fifth season of the show.

In the first trailer, titled “Hallways,” Gaga’s long blonde mane is seen throughout, and other characters and their bold looks are also revealed. Kathy Bates, who plays a woman named Iris who runs the Hotel, is in the preview, as is Evan Peters who plays Mr. March. Matt Bomer plays Donovan, and Sarah Paulson, who plays Hypodermic Sally, are both featured in the trailer as well. While Sarah Paulson’s character was one of the first we learned about, Gaga’s character was under wraps for some time.

As the Inquisitr reported, Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer are both leads, and they play love interests in the contemporary hotel setting. Prior to the trailer’s release, Entertainment Weekly revealed a lot about Gaga’s involvement in the upcoming season and what her character is all about.

For Gaga, it was a return to “the art of darkness.” For awhile, Gaga has tamed her exaggerated theatrical look while touring with Tony Bennet, but as she started filming American Horror Story: Hotel, she began to embrace that creative side of herself again, which seemed to be creator Ryan Murphy’s intention from the very beginning.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Gaga is playing “a bloodsucking killer living in a hotel full of similarly nefarious creatures.”

Gaga is the hotel owner of the Hotel Cortez, who is known as the glamorous Countess, but as stated, she’s also a “deadly creature” who feasts on sex and blood, which she survives on thanks to a clawed glove.

All of that considered, Ryan Murphy told Us Weekly that the theme isn’t about vampires.

“It’s not vampires. It’s really a form of hemophilia in a way. There’s no capes and fangs.”

As far as Gaga’s take on her own character, she told EW, “She’s extremely strong. She’s been through so much. It’s kind of impossible for anything to penetrate her.”

Newcomers among the familiar faces of AHS include Darren Criss, Max Greenfield, Cheyenne Jackson, and Madchen Amick. We still have yet to find out about Emma Roberts and Richard T. Jones’ roles.

The season of American Horror Story: Hotel will premiere on Wednesday, October 7 at 10 p.m. on FX.
