‘Sons of Anarchy’ Star Kills, Scalds, And Eats Ex’s Pet Bunny
Sons of Anarchy stars may often be in the news for the right reasons, but Dimitri Diatchenko has made sure it does not always stay that way.
The San Francisco-born star, who played the lead Russian Dolyrus on Kurt Sutter’s cult drama Sons of Anarchy and also had a cameo in 2 Broke Girls, has been sentenced to 60 days of community service and 48 hours of animal cruelty counseling for having killed, skinned, cooked, and eaten his ex-girlfriend’s pet bunny, according to Radar Online.
In a bizarre case of emotional incompetence displayed by Diatchenko, he allegedly killed and ate the pet rabbit owned by his ex-girlfriend after she broke up with him and asked him to move out last December. Not only that, Dimitri even sent her graphic images of the entire process while the woman was away and threatened to do the same to her when she returned. A statement released by the District Attorney’s office read as follows.
“Diatchenko skinned the pet, cooked it and ate half of it while sending her step-by-step pictures of what he did. When she returned the defendant allegedly told her he would do the same to her.”
The 47-year-old actor initially denied the charges, but last Friday he pleaded no contest to animal cruelty. The Sons of Anarchy star has also been placed under probation for a period of three years.
According to E! Online, Diatchenko had been living with his ex-girlfriend in their North Hollywood home for a while after they had broken up. On December 7, when his girlfriend asked him to move out, the Sons of Anarchy star apparently hatched up a plan to teach her a lesson. It was then that he allegedly killed and ate some parts of the pet rabbit. He was charged with one felony count of cruelty to an animal with the use of a knife, and another felony count for criminal intimidation.
Diatchenko, apart from his regular TV cameos which included playing the Head Russian in Sons of Anarchy, is also known for appearing in various mainstream blockbusters, including Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and for his voiceovers in various video game franchises, including the Tomb Raider and Iron Man franchises. Dimitri has taken to social media lately to repair some of the damage done to his star image, where he has been seen posting cozy pictures with his pet dog.
