‘Patricia Heaton Parties’: Food Network Show Proves She Really Can Cook, Unlike Her TV Counterparts

Actress Patricia Heaton, best known for her roles as mom on the hit shows Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle, is swapping comedy for reality in her new show on Food Network. Patricia Heaton Parties will showcase the star’s knack for at home entertaining.

While neither of the moms Patricia plays on TV are very adept at cooking or baking, this is one area where fantasy does not shadow reality. Heaton excels at hosting various types of parties at her home in her real life. The show will center on themed parties.

Patricia Heaton Parties is a six-part series that will premiere on October 24 at noon. The first episode promises a delightful blend of fun as Patricia Heaton hosts a Halloween party. Guests will include fellow stars from The Middle Brock Ciarlelli (Brad Bottig), Charlie McDermott (Axl Heck), Jen Ray (Nancy Donahue), Eden Sher (Sue Heck) and Tyson Fontaine (makeup artist).

According to Cleveland, the Halloween episode of Patricia Heaton Parties will showcase themed treats such as Spooky Salad with Blood Dressing, Zombie Punch with Eyeball Ice Cubes, Tombstone and Coffin Grilled Cheese, Smoky Tomato Soup, and for a perfect finisher, candied pretzel parts.

It appears Patricia is excited to take on this new dimension. She has taken to Twitter to share the news.

Following episodes will include a celebration of her 25th wedding anniversary with husband David Hunt, a cozy outdoor dinner with their four children, a twist on ladies night, as well as holiday parties.

Food Network general manager and senior vice president, Bob Tuschman, has this to say about Patricia Heaton’s entertaining talents.

“While everybody knows [Heaton] as a talented and hilarious actress, until now only her family and friends have experienced her fantastic at-home parties. Audiences will now get a humorous and intimate look, at home with Patricia, as she shares her tips and ideas for entertaining.”

According to Food Network, time away from work finds Patricia in the midst of entertaining.

“…what you may not know about this celebrated actress is that on her days away from the set, she’s all about entertaining. From party planning and decor setup to menu ideas for crowd-pleasing eats and drinks, Patricia knows just what it takes to entertain without a hassle, and in her all-new series, Patricia Heaton Parties, she’ll show you how.”

“Beginning Saturday, Oct. 24 at 12|11c, Patricia will dish on the ins and outs of throwing low-key bashes, like casual girls’ nights, and welcoming holiday gatherings alike — and even invite you into her house for her own celebrations. You can be sure that the food at Patricia’s parties is fresh, craveable fare that’s easy to eat.”
