Who Murdered Laurie Janae Teter?
Authorities in Morgan County, Colorado, are looking for a killer after the body of Laurie Janae Teter was found along a rural intersection. The Fort Morgan Times reports that authorities in Morgan County are investigating her death as a homicide, but an autopsy is pending to determine the cause and manner in which she died.
Teter had been missing for approximately a week before her body was located near the side of the road near County roads U.5 and 24. The details surrounding Laurie Janae Teter’s disappearance were immediately suspicious. That’s because she was last seen on foot in the area near the discovery of her body, just after getting into a physical altercation with her boyfriend. The two had been living in a tent together in the area.
NBC News 9 reports that authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, and “a number” of people have been interviewed. However, an exact number has yet to be produced by authorities. Authorities have also not confirmed or denied whether they’ve interviewed the once-missing woman’s boyfriend since the discovery of her body. Another detail not addressed in reports is what led police to declare that her death is a homicide.
Laurie Janae Teter was 37 years old when she vanished mysteriously after fighting with her boyfriend. At the time of her disappearance, she was 5’4? and 105 lbs., with multiple tattoos, black hair and brown-hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a black tank top with shorts of the same color. Authorities haven’t shared whether she was dressed or not when her body was discovered. So many details are being withheld in this woman’s case, but it could all be for the solidarity of the investigation. If authorities release too much information, it could compromise efforts put into solving the case.
This case has sparked discussion on social media — in particular on the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. Friends and family members of the possibly slain woman are expressing their thoughts about a woman who has been described as a good friend who touched the lives of many people. One friend posted on the sheriff’s office release with touching words.
“Oh my. RIP sweet Laurie. U [sic] were such an amazing friend to me and to many. My heart is aching for Ur beautiful children and your family. May God wrap his arms around Ur [sic] family and babies in this hard time. See you one day girlie.”
