‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6: New Artwork And Speculation That Jesus And Negan Could Appear Soon

With season 6 of The Walking Dead premiering in just over a month, AMC has released a new piece of artwork to promote the start date. As well as this new promotional poster, there are plenty of rumors circulating about what will happen in the upcoming season, in particular about the potential bad guys arriving in season 6.

WARNING: This article contains rumors that may lead to potential spoilers for the upcoming season 6 of The Walking Dead. Please proceed with caution.

Before starting in on the rumors and speculation, there was new key artwork released by AMC. As usual, this promotional image shows the main protagonist, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). He is not as cleanly shaven as we saw in the season 5 finale of The Walking Dead which means, if what showrunner, Scott Gimple, said at San Diego Comic Con this year, Rick will be teetering the line between Leader Rick and Crazy Rick. As ComicBook, reported, “the beard is a barometer to where Rick is at.”

Also in this image, gathering storm clouds can be seen behind Rick. He also has a gun in his hand and at the ready. This is a pretty good indication that a storm is coming. Considering there is reportedly the largest number of walkers in episode 1 of season 6, and the potential for Alexandria to fall as a result of this attack, this storm will most likely be a metaphorical storm. Added into the mix is the fact that season 5 of The Walking Dead saw the arrival of a new threat that goes by the name of The Wolves, a tribe of people who liken themselves to wolves.

Now for the rumors.

According to The Spoiling Dead, season 6 of The Walking Dead will introduce a character from the comic book series, Paul “Jesus” Monroe. Added to this arrival is the fact that Rick and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) could be at loggerheads this season. Details of the scene are below courtesy of The Spoiling Dead Facebook page, via a Walking Dead fan who goes by the name of “Gossip Girl.” There are also several images accompanying this post. However, this scene has not been confirmed yet, so please temper it with your own judgement.

“They meet up at the store. Jesus (at least someone matching the comic look) is there first. Rick pulls up, Daryl’s bike pulls up. The car door slams really loud. First, Rick yells followed by Daryl yelling. Rick says something, and Daryl yells ‘DAMN IT, RICK!!’ then Jesus runs toward them. There are lines between the actors, and Jesus says ‘We’ve gotta go, we’ve got seven minutes’ or ‘We’ve gotta go, I’ve got seven minutes’. No physical fight was actually seen, but you could hear the tension/intent.”

If Jesus does actually appear in season 6 of The Walking Dead, that will likely mean that another big bad character by the name of Negan will appear at some point after that. Although, even with all the speculation, there is still no confirmed evidence to suggest Negan will appear in season 6 of The Walking Dead other than TVLine releasing details on a casting call for a character called “Rich” which they thought sounded a lot like Negan. What do you think?

“The breakdown describes “Rich” as a fifty-something narcissist who has an angry streak, a ‘Senator-like charm’ and the charisma of a car salesman.”

The Walking Dead returns to AMC for season 6 on Sunday, October 11, 2015, 9/8c.
