One Direction’s Sold-Out Concert In Ottawa Shows Further Proof They’re Not Splitting Up Any Time Soon

One Direction may have lost Zayn Malik early this year, but there are signs that the British boy group is still going strong amidst the swirl of rumors suggesting that they’re about to disband soon. One such sign emerged when One Direction – now a four-member-crew consisting of Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson – lit up the audience during their sold-out concert at the Canadian Tire Center on Tuesday, as reported by Ottawa Citizen.

As one would expect from a One Direction gig, the 15,000 capacity crowd at the Canadian Tire Center were predominantly female. The sold-out stadium erupted into shrieks the moment One Direction stepped into the stage.

One Direction opened up the concert with “Clouds,” the final track to their fourth and latest album, Four. They followed it up with the album’s first track, “Steal My Girl,” and thereafter performed the rocky ditty “Little Black Dress” from the Midnight Memories album.

The long-haired Harry Styles was the first to address the audience.

“Our job is to entertain you the best we can. Your job is to have as much fun as you possibly can.”

To say that the audience had fun is an understatement, as they waved their glow sticks about, danced like there was no tomorrow, flashed their cardboard signs declaring their undying love, and sang along with the band to their hearts’ content.

One Direction were at their best throughout the entire concert as they performed songs from all four albums. Some of the night’s highlights include “Midnight Memories,” the romantic “Fireproof,” “Girl Almighty,” and other favorites such as “Diana,” “The Story of My Life” and “Best Song Ever.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, One Direction ticket prices soared amidst fans’ fears that this year may be their last opportunity to see the band perform live. Since the group made a statement that suggests a split may be on the horizon, One Direction fans from around the world have been more than antsy and restless.

Niall took to Twitter to address the rumors and assure fans that One Direction are not splitting up any time soon and that they will just be taking a well-deserved time off.

Despite Horan’s assurances, the breakup rumors resulted to inflated ticket prices from secondary ticketing sites. One Direction responded by holding back some tickets so that they can be sold at face value price through the ticketing app Twickets. This measure should appease fans who want to see the group perform at their final shows in Sheffield.

Still, the question looms: What’s in store for One Direction once they conclude their “On the Road Again” tour this year and take some well-deserved break?

As to that, here’s a piece of exciting news that will put a smile on any One Direction fan.
