WWE News: Major Update On Kurt Angle’s Future, Taking A Year-Long Break From Wrestling

Kurt Angle, a future-WWE Hall of Fame wrestler, is wanted back in World Wrestling Entertainment. When he left the company less than a decade ago, Angle went to Impact Wrestling and made an immediate impact. It was clear that the WWE missed the former-WWE champion and had to adjust without one of the best wrestlers in WWE history.

Since Angle’s surgery, his wrestling future became in question. There was no doubt that he’d return to the squared circle, but where he’d wrestle was a big debate. During an interview with Mark Madden on 1059. the X, Kurt Angle lays out his future plans and addresses a WWE return.

“Angle said he will not re-sign with TNA when his contract is up this January. He also noted that he will NOT pursue a deal with WWE either; Angle did not say how long the sabbatical would last, but did comment on his current TNA status.”

“He noted that he is close to 100 percent healthy, and will be back to appear at the TNA Bound For Glory pay-per-view in Charlotte, North Carolina.”

Hopefully, this dispels any rumors that Kurt Angle is going to the WWE for one final run. There’s little doubt that he will come back to the company that made him famous, but time is running out and as Angle said, he’s going to take a year off from wrestling anyway. At Angle’s age, leaving the ring for one year will only help make his career even longer.

At one point, Angle was rumored to return to the WWE. In an interview with SI.com, he talked about that failed attempt.

“Paul [Levesque] is in charge. I found that out when I contacted Vince. I’ve always had a good relationship with Paul, so I didn’t consider that a problem. But he decided they had enough talent.”

There’s never too much talent for Kurt Angle on a wrestling roster, but that’s for Triple H and Vince McMahon to ultimately decide. Feuds exist in current plans that WWE fans aren’t fond of. Dolph Ziggler and Rusev is one of those programs. The “TMZ” feel doesn’t mesh with the wrestling product. As fans put it, it’s a pro-wrestling show.

Also, the loathing of Big Show, Kane, Mark Henry and the Miz is still present. Kurt Angle would get over in the WWE upon his return and help young WWE stars. When Angle’s year off is over, would a WWE return help end his career on a high note? On top of that, would it help the WWE’s poor ratings as of late?
