But the 2015 Labor Day Classic between the two Ontario franchises separated by just 40 miles of freeway is different.
For the first time in 45 Labor Day games between Toronto and Hamilton, the two teams come into the the holiday tied for first place.

Both teams enter the game at 6-3, tied atop the four-team CFL East Division. In the previous 12 Labor Day games between the two rivals, the Tiger-Cats hold a 7-5 edge, but in the last seven, the Argonauts are 4-3.
In the 2015 season, the two teams faced each other on August 3, also in Hamilton, with the home team prevailing 34-18. And the Toronto-Hamilton rivalry will see a quick turnaround, with their third and final meeting of the regular season coming on Friday, September 11, at Rogers Center in Toronto.
Another piece of Labor Day Classic history this year for the Canadian Football League — for the first time, not just one but both games played on the holiday will be battles for first place.
In the second matchup of the Labor Day Classic doubleheader, the 6-3, second-place Edmonton Eskimos travel to Calgary to try to grab a share of the West Division lead from the 7-2 Stampeders. Kickoff for that game, which football fans can also watch live online free and legally, is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Alberta. That’s 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
