Rita Ora Not A Fan Of Zayn Malik? ‘Body On Me’ Singer Shades Former One Direction Member
Rita Ora may have gushed over Chris Brown during their collaboration of “Body On Me,” but it appears the British songstress doesn’t share the same affection for former One Direction member Zayn Malik.
In a new interview with Capital FM, Ora is asked to play a game of “mash it up,” in which she is asked to shout her catchphrase in the event that she fancies a mentioned celebrity, Mirror UK reports.
The show’s host, Max, begins to list a number of different male and female celebrities, including the likes of Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, to gauge Ora’s reaction to each of her fellow industry professionals.
Ora reacts enthusiastically to nearly every celebrity mentioned during the segment, but gives quite an awkward response when asked if she would like to “mash it up” with Zayn Malik.
After a long pause, Ora explains, “Zayn, he’s gorgeous, but, I just…” before falling silent once more, prompting the show’s hosts to move on from the game.
In a previous interview with Capital FM, Ora gushed over Malik while admitting that it would be “awkward” to be romantically linked to the star since they’re on the same management team following Zayn’s exit from One Direction.
“That can’t happen,” Ora admitted in a former interview, “We’re on the same management team, too close to home that, but no, he’s great.”
While it’s unclear as to why Ora doesn’t appear to be a fan of the “Story Of My Life” singer, rumors suggest that perhaps Ora is attempting to avoid being romantically linked to the now-single pop star.
Malik called off his two-year engagement to Little Mix singer, Perrie Edwards, via text message earlier this year, prompting Malik’s family and friends to speak out regarding their concerns over the singer’s well-being following his exit from 1D.
Daily Mail reports that according to sources close to Malik, the singer’s friends are worried that Zayn may be heading for a “meltdown” in the near future.
A friend of Malik’s explains, “He is self-destructing right now and I hope he’s got someone there for him. I doubt he has, so that’s why I’m worried for him. He’s p***ing off so many people, it’s very hard to see him having much support left by the time he’s finally ready to release any music.”
The source continues, “He has gone power crazy. You can blame other people like his new management but really it’s him.”
