Freddie Stroma Has Landed The Biggest Role Of His Career In ‘Game of Thrones’

Freddie Stroma has a new role coming up, and it may be his biggest to date. It has been confirmed that Stroma will have a part in the next season of the HBO fantasy drama, “Game of Thrones.”

Recently reported by Variety, Freddie Stroma will portray Samwell Tarly’s younger, physically fitter, and better-looking brother, Dickon Tarly, in season 6. The ending of season 5 hinted that the characters of Dickon Tarly and Lord Randyll Tarly (Samwell’s and Dickon’s father) will make their appearance in the next season.

Freddie Stroma was born in London, England on January 8, 1987. To pay for college, Stroma took on a number of acting and modeling jobs which landed him various roles on British television shows.

Having been chosen for the part of Cormac McLaggen in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Freddie took a year off from college, but he ultimately returned to complete his degree in Neuroscience. He later returned to the role of Cormac in the final two Harry Potter films.

In addition to the big screen, Freddie Stroma has also found success on TV. Stroma currently stars in the Lifetime show “UnReal” as Adam Cromwell. In the show, Stroma’s character is a desirable and deceitful bachelor on a fictional The Bachelor-style reality show.

In a recent interview with MTV, Freddie Stroma discussed his transition from the big screen to television.

“I mean, it’s a different thing. Having a smaller role in one of the bigger budget movies is… it’s fun to be part of something that’s that size, and has that much love around the world, but it is very enjoyable to have a much bigger role. You can kind of have more influence on the piece.”

Now that Freddie Stroma will be a part of the biggest hit HBO has had in years, time will tell if he will have any influence on its future as well.

Whether or not Freddie Stroma’s part in “Game of Thrones” will affect its direction, his fans are excited about the new role.

The HBO series is based on books by George RR Martin and has become a worldwide sensation. Landing the part as Dickon Tarly is undoubtedly a huge leap in Freddie Stroma’s career.

“Game of Thrones” will see other new cast members as well. Entertainment Weekly reports that Freddie Stroma will be alongside famous actors Ian McShane and Max von Sydow in the upcoming season. Additionally, from The Inquisitr, Stroma will also be joined by Pilou Asbaek.

You will also see Stroma in a new Michael Bay movie entitled 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi to be released sometime in 2016.

As a new season of “UnReal” has been renewed, and the HBO confirmation that “Game of Thrones” will be around for at least an additional 2 seasons, Freddie Stroma will be quite busy.
