Robin Williams’ Daughter Zelda Pens Emotional And Uplifting Instagram Post About Grief And Hope

It’s been more than one year since Robin Williams’ untimely death, and his daughter Zelda Williams recently penned an encouraging and uplifting message of hope to others experiencing a similar loss.

In an emotional Instagram posted Saturday afternoon, the 26-year-old daughter of Robin Williams shared a shot of a beautiful lake sunrise with words that express her grief and love of her dad.

“I spent this night shivering and laughing under a clear, cold sky full of stars with people I love just to witness something beautiful. We mooned the moon and laughed ourselves hoarse, and I’m so incredibly grateful for every silly second.”

Zelda shared that it’s through innocent summer fun that she has learned to carry on after the tragic loss of her dad.

“I came to a realization this year that I feel compelled to share here, for whomsoever may need it: Avoiding fear, sadness, or anger is not the same thing as being happy. I live my sadness every day, but I don’t resent it anymore,” she explained. “Instead, I do it now so that the wonderful moments of joy I do find are not in order to forget, but to inhabit and enjoy for their own sake. It’s not easy. In fact, I’d say it takes much more effort to consciously do than it does to just stay sad, but with my heart, I cannot tell you how worth it it is.”

Since Robin Williams’ death, Zelda and her brothers have continued to cope with his loss in individual ways, reports E! Online. Everyone has helped continue Robin’s charity work with the Challenged Athletes Foundation and St. Jude. As for Zelda, she got a tattoo of a hummingbird in honor of her dad.

As reported by Access Hollywood, Zelda felt compelled to share the beautiful sunrise and her thoughts with others, along with the hope that things really do get better. Her story is an inspiration for so many who are going through similar losses.

“For those suffering from depression, I know how dark and endless that tunnel can feel, but if happiness seems impossible to find, please hold on to the possibility of hope, faint though it may be. Because I promise you, there’s enough nights under the same yellow moon for all of us to share, no matter how or when you find your way there.”

Needless to say, Robin Williams would be proud of his daughter for sharing the same love and compassion that he expressed to so many for so many years, through film and through his unparalleled spirit.
