Arian Foster Rumors: Injury Update Good For Fantasy Football, Houston Texans

Arian Foster rumors could be good news for fantasy football owners. These Foster rumors include an injury update from the Houston Texans, indicating he might be able to return to the field in September. A report from CBS Sports states that Foster could be back by the Week 3 Houston vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game. That would be huge, as it would mean the team made the right decision by not putting him on injured reserve.

Foster suffered a groin injury and had to go through sports-hernia surgery in early August. It was believed that he might miss the first eight weeks of the 2015 NFL season by the team placing him on short-term IR. Now, it appears like he might be able to help the Texans a lot sooner than previously thought. For any fantasy football owner who took a risk on him in recent league drafts, that could come as spectacularly good news.

There have been a lot of Arian Foster rumors during the NFL preseason, especially as the Houston Texans scramble to come up with alternative plans at running back. He will already miss games against the Kansas City Chiefs on September 13 and against the Carolina Panthers on September 20. Following that, it becomes a question mark as to when he will officially get listed as active again. If he isn’t quite ready against the Buccaneers on September 27, the Texans play the Atlanta Falcons on October 4 and then the Indianapolis Colts on October 8.

ESPN recently released projections for the 2015 NFL season, with predictions on the regular season records for each team. The Houston Texans are predicted to finish the season 10-6, taking full advantage of the third-easiest schedule in the league. That record would be good enough to finish with the first wild card spot, three games behind the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC South. One of the predicted losses is in Week 5 against the Colts, but getting Foster back for that game might make the difference.

There are still many risks for the Texans to put Foster back on the field too quickly, giving the front office every incentive to take it slowly. With a roster good enough to make it to the NFL Playoffs, though, there is also a sense of urgency in the air. More Arian Foster rumors will surface as the regular season begins, but it’s now a situation where fans should pay closer attention than before.
