A Few Things J.K. Rowling Has Revealed About Harry Potter In 2015

It’s been eight years since the Harry Potter series ended and J.K. Rowling closed the curtains on Hogwarts. However, the closing wasn’t so final as many of the fans feared. The author has revealed several things about the famous Harry Potter series this year.

September 1st Marked James Potter’s First Year at Hogwarts

On September 1, 2015, J.K. Rowling tweeted a reminder that James Sirius Potter would be starting his first year at Hogwarts.

“I’m in Edinburgh, so could somebody at King’s Cross wish James S Potter good luck for me? He’s starting at Hogwarts today. #BackToHogwarts”

It was a happy day for all Harry Potter fans as they celebrated what is now known as Harry Potter day.

James Is A Gryffindor

Like father (and mother), like son, James has been sorted into Gryffindor. It’s a predictable outcome, but fans are hoping that Albus Severus will have been sorted into the Slytherin house, just to keep things interesting.

Harry Has A Rugged Scar

Rowling has also reported that Harry now has a “nasty cut over his right cheekbone.” However, she has not reported how he got the scar. He was in enough scrapes in his youth that it’s possible that scar comes from one of his many dangerous adventures from years past. Or it could be a result of one of his new adventures as an auror.

Harry Is Also Turning Gray at 35

It looks like early signs of age runs in the family. Rowling published a story on Pottermore, which revealed that Harry already has “a couple of threads of silver in his black hair.”

It was written in the words of Rita Skeeter, so it’s possible that her Quick Quotes Quill was at work, trying to make Potter seem like something he’s not. Or it could be from Harry’s work as an auror, not to mention the hectic seven years of his life when he was actively hunted by Voldemort.

Hermione Is Head of The Department of Magical Law Enforcement

As expected, Hermione has made it far with her quick wit and unprecedented intelligence. It didn’t take her long to rise to a senior position in the Ministry for Magic. It can also be expected that the government is a little straighter now that Hermione is at the head.

Ron Works for Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes

Ron’s line of work is slightly less impressive. After spending some time working as an auror, he went into the family business working for his brothers’ joke shop. However, he’s still the good-natured, loyal, and fun-loving Ron Weasley we knew at Hogwarts.
