Derick Dillard Shares Update On His Mom’s Health

Derick Dillard of 19 Kids and Counting is giving fans another update on his mom. While Derick is back in the States with his wife, Jill Duggar, they are spending time with family. Dillard went to his Instagram to share what they are up to and a small update on his mom Cathy’s health. Fans have been curious to hear how Derick’s mom has been doing after her battle with cancer.

“My mom took us to see ‘War Room’ last night! Thank you for praying for her health; she’s doing great!”

In the photo that Derick Dillard shared, Cathy has a smile on her face and looks like she is doing fantastic. She was able to enjoy a night on the town with Derick, Jill, Israel, and Derick’s brother. This is a huge improvement over how she was doing just last year.

According to the Dillard Family Blog, Derick’s mom was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, which is a very aggressive form of cancer. On 19 Kids and Counting, viewers saw that she had to miss a lot of stuff for Jill and Derick’s wedding because of how sick she was at the time. At that time, Derick’s mom had to be isolated, and Derick shared that he spent as much time as he could with his mom just in case.

For a while, Derick’s mom couldn’t even be out, and they had to wear a mask when they came in to see her in the house. When he brought her a rose for Mother’s Day, it had to be left outside. This was to prevent Dillard’s mom from getting sick. He had shared that things were going better for her around Mother’s Day of this year, though.

“My mom’s story of battle and triumph over cancer is nothing short of a miracle, performed by the one true God, our Lord Jesus Christ, through many medical personnel to whom I am eternally grateful.”

Luckily, Derick Dillard’s mom is now doing great. Last night, she got to take her kids out, and Derick, Jill, and his brother looked like they had a great night that ended with food and ice cream at Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers. Derick Dillard looked like he was happy to be home at least for a little bit.

Dillard has shared that he is very close with his mom Cathy. While 19 Kids and Counting was on TLC, fans got to know her and love her.
