Caitlyn Jenner Narrowly Avoids Another Car Crash, This Time With Paparazzi

Caitlyn Jenner’s driving skills really do leave quite a lot to be desired. The reality television star and Olympic gold medalist almost found herself in yet another driving incident on Tuesday evening, after she was caught narrowly avoiding paparazzi as she left an LA restaurant.

The incident was captured on tape by TMZ, who snapped Caitlyn as she left the Fig & Olive restaurant in West Hollywood. She had been dining there with close friend and confidant Candis Cayne.

Jenner entered her SUV, which was surrounded by a hoard of photographers, but when she then hit it into gear, the car suddenly went out of her control, and then “lurched” forward. This endangered the paparazzi around her.

But Caitlyn was able to regain control of her automobile almost instantaneously, and she was able to stop it from colliding into anyone or even remotely injuring a member of the press.

There had previously been speculation that Caitlyn Jenner could face charges of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter for her involvement in a car crash that resulted in the death of a passenger in another vehicle. The crash took place on February 7, 2015, when Caitlyn’s car hit a Lexus that was in front of her, which then sent that car into an oncoming Hummer. This ultimately resulted in the death of Kim Howe, who was driving the Lexus.

Caitlyn Jenner, who was known as Bruce Jenner at the time, hasn’t spoken publicly about the incident. But it’s now been revealed that because Jenner broke “several seconds before impact” in her attempt to avoid hitting the Lexus, she will avoid the above charges.

The maximum amount of time she could have spent in jail for the incident would have been a year. A source told Radar Online, via the Mirror, “It’s unlikely Caitlyn will spend one day behind bars, because the maximum penalty for misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter is one year in jail. Caitlyn’s driving record is essentially clean, and she has no prior criminal history.”

Another insider previously explained that while the crash was tragic, it would not be deemed as criminal. Meanwhile, via TMZ, Kim Howe’s stepchildren have repeatedly asked if Jenner was taking any prescription or non-prescription medication at the time of the crash, which could have been a contributing factor.

Sheriff’s officials have previously confirmed that Caitlyn Jenner wasn’t under any influence of drugs or alcohol.
