Wendy Williams ‘Disappointed’ By Nicki Minaj’s VMA Beef With Miley Cyrus

Wendy Williams is known for speaking her mind about everyone on her talk show, so it’s not surprising that she had something to say about the VMA beef everyone’s talking about.

While on HuffPost Live, Wendy Williams expressed her disappointment in Nicki Minaj for fighting with someone Miley Cyrus’ age. According to Williams, she didn’t watch the VMAs, but the news of the beef was inescapable.

“I did see the clip and I was very disappointed in Nicki. And I don’t have an opinion on either one of the girls—bad, good or indifferent. You know, they’re both talented in their own way.”

Williams then went in on Minaj, telling the host, “I just feel that Nicki is like twice Miley Cyrus’ age and it would have been nice if Nicki would have just taken her award, rolled her eyes and looked at the camera—and then kept it moving.”

She continued, “I don’t know, I just… Who fights with kids?”

In case you missed it, the beef started when Miley Cyrus, 22, was asked if she was following the Twitter drama between Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj. In a New York Times article, Cyrus said she hadn’t and then smacked Nicki’s attitude down.

“If you do things with an open heart and you come at things with love, you would be heard and I would respect your statement. But I don’t respect your statement because of the anger that came with it. And it’s not anger like, ‘Guys, I’m frustrated about some things that are a bigger issue.’ You made it about you. Not to sound like a b***h, but that’s like, ‘Eh, I didn’t get my VMA.'”

Cyrus continued, “If you want to make it about race, there’s a way you could do that. But don’t make it just about yourself. Say: This is the reason why I think it’s important to be nominated. There’s girls everywhere with this body type. What I read sounded very Nicki Minaj, which, if you know Nicki Minaj is not too kind. It’s not very polite. I think there’s a way you speak to people with openness and love.”

After Minaj won her award for Best Hip-Hop video, she used the platform and the open mic to address her problem with Cyrus’ comments.

She turned to Cyrus, who was hosting the VMAs, and said, “Back to this b—h who has a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley, what’s good?”

Cyrus, who looked visibly shocked, tried to brush it under the rug, but she had quite a bit of edge to her voice as she responded,

“We all do interviews. We all know how they manipulate s–t. Congratuf–kinglations, Nicki.”

After that moment, both names trended on Twitter, and it’s all anyone has been talking about all week in regards to the VMAs.
