Jason Biggs, Wife Spoof Time’s Breastfeeding Mom Cover
While other stars, such as actress Alyssa Milano, have condemned Grumet, calling the cover photo (seen below) “exploitative” and “extreme,” Biggs has approached the subject in a slightly more lighthearted manner – by re-enacting the photoshoot with his wife Jenny Mollen.
In their re-creation of the Time cover, Biggs is seen kneeling on a chair with his wife’s breast in his mouth as she stands with her hands on her hips, mocking the same pose as Jamie Lynn Grumet.
Along with the picture Biggs poses the question: “Are you wife enough?” an obvious stab at Time’s headline, “Are you mom enough?”
Despite the outrage surrounding the cover, Grumet defends her actions and insists that there is nothing wrong with breastfeeding her son, even if he is about to turn four.
TIME quotes Grumet as saying:
“They are people who tell me they’re going to call social services on me or that it’s child molestation. I really don’t think I can reason with those people. But as far as someone who says they’re uncomfortable with this, I don’t think it’s wrong to admit this. But people have to realize this is biologically normal.
“It’s not socially normal. The more people see it, the more it’ll become normal in our culture. That’s what I’m hoping. I want people to see it.”
