Watch England Vs. Australia Cricket 1st ODI Live Online: Rising England Take On World Cup Champs

Cricket fans can watch live online as Australia and England meet again for the start of the third leg of the summer tour — the first in a five-match One Day International series between the two arch-rivals. The last time the two ODI sides met was on February 14, in the second group stage match of the Cricket World Cup, at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Australia, who would go on to win the World Cup, won the match by a resounding 111 runs, bowling England out for just 231 with 49 balls to spare.

But much has changed for a newly confident England one-day side, who look to take the momentum from Monday’s thrilling five-run win in the lone T20 match of the Australia vs. England tour — a match which came on the heels of England’s 3-2 Ashes Test series win.

After crashing out of the World Cup at the group stage, England under Captain Eoin Morgan regrouped when they faced World Cup runner-up New Zealand, winning a blistering five-match ODI series 3-2.

Now they look for a similar performance against the reigning world champions.

Australia Captain Steve Smith knows that the World Cup victory puts a target on his team’s back, especially for England who has everything toprove after the debacle down under in February and March.

“We’re a very good one-day side. We’re number one in the world a the moment and we’re certainly going to be hunted. Hopefully we can continue to play well in one-day cricket and continue to have a lot of success.”
