Janice Dickinson had a seizure and collapsed on live television after the model was stung by a bee on the set of Celebrity Big Brother.
The incident played out in front of millions of fans watching along, who got to see Dickinson grow progressively more ill after being stung.
On the video feed, Janice Dickinson could be seen telling production staff that the swelling was moving up her wrist.
“I don’t want this to get into my heart,” she says (via the New York Daily News).
“I need an Antihistamine, a Benadryl, a shot or an EpiPen right away. The difference is in the hand color – it’s like purple or black. Do you get it? They’re turning black.”
The production staff — and the voice in the sky of Big Brother — told Dickinson to stay calm as the allergic reaction quickly grew worse.
“Look at these,” she says. “They’re turning blue. It bit me here and here. It’s going up my hand. I don’t want it to reach my heart.”
Not long afterward, Janice Dickinson began having a seizure and others rushed in to help her.
Some fans criticized Celebrity Big Brother for appearing slow to help Janice in her medical crisis and for airing it all on television.
I only just watched tonight’s big brother, can I just say that I’m disgusted the fact that they aired Janice having a fit in the diary room

But others believed that Janice was playing up her medical crisis for the cameras.
Janice Dickinson just gave Gillian McKeith a run for her money with that fake fit on Big Brother

But as the BBC noted, seizures can be caused by a number of different triggers. The outlet cited the group Epilepsy Action.
“Epilepsy is currently defined as the tendency to have recurrent seizures. A seizure happens when there is a sudden burst of intense electrical activity in the brain.”
“There are more than 40 different types of seizure and they all present themselves in different ways. It is possible to have seizures that aren’t due to epilepsy, such as those caused by low blood sugar.”
“Some things make seizures more likely for some people with epilepsy. These are called ‘triggers’. Triggers don’t cause epilepsy itself, but they could make it more likely that someone with epilepsy will have a seizure. It is possible that stress, or being in a highly stressful situation, could trigger a seizure for someone with epilepsy.”
Janice Dickinson is not the only one causing drama in the Celebrity Big Brother house. Just a few days ago, producers kicked out contestant Tila Tequila after her 2013 Facebook post supporting Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party surfaced.
