Jessa Seewald (Duggar) Endorses Father-In-Law’s Post Shunning Josh Duggar

Has Jessa Seewald turned her back against her older brother, Josh Duggar? It appears that way, as the former 19 Kids and Counting star recently shared a link on her Facebook page, endorsing her father-in-law’s blog post, shaming Josh after the Ashley Madison scandal.

The blog post, written by Michael Seewald, Ben Seewald’s father, is titled “Grief, Shame, And Taking The LORD’s Name In Vain,” and refers to Josh as being “wicked” and a “pretender.” He also blasts Duggar for being a “hypocrite,” claiming to be a Christian who lived by conservative values, but participating in things like adultery and pornography.

“It distresses me to say that Josh Duggar’s greatest sin is a byproduct of the sum total of his secretly sinful lifestyle. That is, that by his hypocrisy, he blasphemed the name of God. He claimed to be a Christian, but by his deeds he has suggested otherwise.

With the name of God on his lips he lived a covert and extensive lifestyle of evil. While proudly saying things like, ‘Our family is like the epitome of conservative values,’ he was looking at porn and soliciting affairs. He took a job at the Family Research Council that exists to promote the traditional family, all the while undermining his own family by violating his marriage covenant. He flourished in the fame of his family and the success of their television show, all the while betraying their trust and Christian values.

The thing that is so hurtful is that he was a loud voice endorsing Christian ethics and he has been shown to be a fraud. I am profoundly grieved that he attained such a platform only to bring shame on God’s holy name and the Christian faith.”

Until now, Jessa has stood by her brother, defending him at every chance she was given, despite the revelation that he had molested her, her sister, Jill, and several other young girls when he was a teenager. Now, however, it seems as though Jessa Seewald has finally publicly denounced Josh’s shameful actions.

“Josh was a young boy in puberty and a little too curious about girls,” Jessa had told Fox News earlier this year. “And that got him into some trouble. And he made some bad choices, but, really, the extent of it was mild.”

She shared the post on Facebook on Tuesday, linking to Michael’s blog, and writing “Go to seewalds.com and read the post on the Ashley Madison scandal.”

On Monday, both Jessa and Ben shared posts on social media, linking to a sermon titled “The Passions That Prevent Adultery,” by John Piper.

“That conviction and passion keeps us out of bed with someone who’s not our spouse and rejects a thousand other temptations,” she wrote.
