Phaedra Parks On Apollo’s Crimes: ‘I Became A Single Mother In Front Of The World’

Phaedra Parks has been keeping her silence since The Real Housewives of Atlanta ended last year. At the time, Apollo Nida was turning himself in to serve several years in prison, and Parks was working on becoming a single mother. Even though Parks knew that Apollo was a criminal when she met him, Phaedra didn’t expect to him to turn to his darker side once more.

These days, Phaedra Parks is solely focused on being a good mother to her children. Parks is taking care of Ayden and Dylan, and she is possibly keeping them from seeing their father, who is serving upwards of 8 years behind bars. But Parks will be returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and Phaedra explains that it is tough sometimes to remain a positive role model for her children, especially due to all of the drama.

According to a new Bravo report, Phaedra Parks is now revealing that her role as a mother is her main reason why she doesn’t act out.

“The way I’ve conducted myself has set me apart because I really try to think before I speak,” Phaedra Parks reveals, adding, “I try not to say things that I can’t come back from. I’m always very careful, and just because you’re thinking something doesn’t mean that you should say it. But there’ve been a lot of times where I wanted to rip somebody’s wig off. If my children are watching this show 10 years from now, I don’t ever want there to be a moment where they’re disappointed or embarrassed, because at the end of the day, you are your children’s role model.”

Even though Parks wanted to show the world that she was in a perfect marriage, everything came crumbling down last year when Nida was sentenced and sent to jail. Phaedra didn’t know everything he was doing, and she was shocked that he was sent away. But Phaedra has no regrets in sharing that struggle with the world.

“In this past year, people have seen how I’ve dealt with my husband being incarcerated, and I became a single mom in front of the world. But I think that on the flip side, people saw me as a pregnant woman, going to school and getting my degree. I had both of my children on the show. And I was still able to come out of all of that unscathed,” Parks explains, adding, “People have seen me at the best and at the worst of times. They’ve seen me in heated situations where I handled myself respectably.”
