Kermit Rebounds With New Love Interest, Finds A New Piggy Denise

2015 hasn’t been kind to power couples. That said, fans were devastated to learn that Kermit and Miss Piggy were splitting after four decades of being a happy couple.

Now according to People Magazine, Kermit the frog, or “Kermie,” which is what Miss Piggy affectionately called him, has found another pig to replace Miss Piggy. You read that right, Kermit is rebounding with another pig!

The pig in question is named Denise. We don’t know much about her, except that she’s “the head of marketing at ABC.” Appearance-wise, while she may share some facial features similar to Miss Piggy, Kermit decided that he wasn’t going to replace his old love with another blonde bombshell. Denise has auburn hair and seems to be very stylish, while Miss Piggy always had a taste for an older, more classic style.

The monumental break-up was addressed recently at the TCAs. Executive producer Bill Prady explained the decision.

“One of the places it came from is Eric Jacobson [Piggy] and Steve Whitmire [Kermit] have done press with them for the past however many years and they always get asked about their relationship. Because there has been no ongoing place to tell that story, they’ve been caught in this, ‘Well, it’s complicated’ kind of place.”

“Just listening to it, I said it sounds like they broke up. They’re being really evasive. Then Bob Kushell said, ‘What if they’re broken up?’ and it seemed to make sense with what I saw when they were interviewed,” he noted. “It seemed like that couple that was putting up a public face but there was something going on.”

As for Miss Piggy, it looks like she’s moving on too. She posed for a photo with actor Liam Hemsworth, which Hemsworth then posted on his Instagram, captioning the photo with, “Spent Friday with the most beautiful girl in the world. Kermit, #SorryNotSorry.” Talk about hitting below the belt!

According to People Magazine, a source close to the new couple told the magazine that Kermit and new love Denise are growing serious. “He calls her his girlfriend.”

Here’s another look at Denise:

That said, Kermit and Miss Piggy will have to play nice with each other. Kermit is still working with Miss Piggy on her new late night show, Up Late with Miss Piggy, which People said is “a situation that is being documented on the upcoming ABC series The Muppets.”

Fans of the old couple are reacting in various ways to the report that Kermit and Miss Piggy have moved on.
