Kim Richards Gets Hotel Arrest Deal, Shoplifting Outcome TBD: ‘Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’ Kyle Vetoes New Show

Kim Richards may be able to avoid spending even more time in prison. After rising to fame first as a child star and then as a cast member of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kim was not present in court when prosecutors and Richards’ attorney discussed the outcome of her Beverly Hills Hotel arrest for charges that included being drunk in public. But the plea deal proposed by prosecutors would mean no additional jail time for Kim, reported TMZ.

Richards’ future, if her attorney accepts the deal, means a ban from the Beverly Hills Hotel, going to 52 Alcoholics Anonymous sessions, and three years of probation. In addition, the plea deal involves 30 days of community labor, and that’s the issue in contention.

Richards has an injured foot, according to her attorney, who wants to substitute community service for the work involved in community labor such as cleaning up freeways.

What’s next: Kim must provide medical documentation to the prosecutors about her foot. September 14 is the deadline for the decision about the plea deal details. And if no deal is reached, Richards’ fate will be determined at a September 30 trial, reported Patch.

But Kim also was arrested for shoplifting on August 2. She spent a night in jail after she allegedly took $600 worth of products from Target.

Richards’ attorney Sara Caplan revealed that a hearing will be held on September 11 to give Caplan time to look at the surveillance video and police report, according to the New York Daily News.

The attorney said Kim was doing well but refused to discuss any treatment. That included no comment on rumors that Richards had spent time hospitalized due to an involuntary psychiatric hold.

The Target arrest has resulted in a petty theft misdemeanor count, and Kim is reported to have taken more than 100 different items. Richards pleaded not guilty, and the outcome of that is to be determined (TBD).

So what does the future hold for Kim? In addition to the outcome of her court cases, that depends on her sister Kyle Richards and her children, who are arguing with Kim over her desire to go back on reality TV, reported Radar Online.

Although Richards is no longer on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kim now has been presented with the chance to make money on a very different type of reality TV show. Set to air on VH1, Family Therapy already has a cast that includes Dina and Michael Lohan, and a source revealed that Richards also had the chance to star.

“Producers had also offered Kim a spot on the upcoming season. Kim wasn’t interested in the concept, or what she would be doing, but needed to earn a paycheck. She approached her kids about the proposal, and asked them to reach out to Kyle, because they aren’t talking.”

But although Kyle reportedly isn’t speaking to Kim, she managed to communicate along with Richards’ children that they vote no. And the reason is based on Kim’s sobriety, added the source.

“They felt she needed to go to rehab. If Kim had already successfully completed treatment, and was in a good place to begin truly working on relationships with the family, that would be a different story,” explained the insider.
