Jennifer Lopez’ Post Idol Plans

Jennifer Lopez has a lot to look forward to this summer as she closes her American Idol chapter.

The singer hinted just like she did last year that she might leave the show after this season, and just before you think she’s crying wolf, a source close to the production said that Lopez is simply “too busy” to be tied down by the demanding schedule of American Idol. The source continued you say that, “it’s not about money” either.

Although Jennifer Lopez hasn’t made an official announcement the judge did tell ex Idol judge and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres this week that she’s ready to move on to other things, “I really do enjoy it…now this is my second year…I don’t know if I can go for a third year. I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down. Which was nice the first year with the babies being [young], but now they’re more mobile. They’re about to go to school. I just don’t know. I don’t know.”

As of right now Jennifer Lopez is starring alongside Hollywood heavyweights such as Cameron Diaz and Elizabeth Banks in What To Expect When You’re Expecting, and this summer she’ll be embarking on a world tour with Latin singer Enrique Inglasias, which is right around the time she would of had to participate in Idol auditions. European dates for the tour have yet to be announced but it is expected that Jennifer Lopez will be overseas until Christmas.

Reps for both Jennifer Lopez and Fox have yet to comment on the decision, but if one thing is for certain it’s that we’ll be enjoying a Lopez summer.
