Howard Stern is Now “Kid-Friendly” According to Wife

Concerns regarding Howard Stern‘s behavior as host on the family-friendly show America’s Got Talent are now being swatted down by none other than the vulgar radio shock-jock’s own wife, Beth Stern. The wife of the “King of All Media” insists that her husband has cleaned up his act, and is now “kid-friendly”, reports TMZ.

Beth Stern flew into Los Angeles yesterday to promote her new show on HGTV called Mom Caves, and was asked by TMZ about the fierce backlash Howard Stern has been getting from the powerful TV watchdog outfit, the Parents Television Council. Stern’s wife immediately and confidently reassured TMZ that her hubby would be playing by the rules, saying “Once they obviously start watching, they’re going to see they have nothing to worry about … I think it’s kid-friendly.”

She added, “He’s compassionate … yet he’s a very good judge.”

Stern has himself insisted on his credibility as a judge for America’s Got Talent, saying at a press junket, “This really fit what I built a career on,” continuing, “We’ve had people come on the radio show for years that are talented or really odd. We’ve taken weirdos and made them stars.”

Despite this, the Parent’s Television Council has made it clear that they will be keeping a very close eye on Stern. “Trusting him to do the right thing is like trusting North Korea to do the right thing,” said President Tim Winters.

Them’s fightin’ words, prompting Stern to respond, “Some guy sitting in his basement calling himself Parent Television Council, I don’t think there’s more than 25 people in this thing. I think it’s a money raising thing. They’re entitled to their opinion but they just seem awfully foolish. I invite them to see the show Monday night and see what kind of judge I am. This is a family show. It’s a different form of entertainment.”
