BedPost: The Online Sex Database

We’re all about finding unique Web services — and this next one, if nothing else, certainly qualifies as that.

BedPost promises to give you “some insight into your sex life.” The site, currently under limited beta testing, basically keeps a catalogued record of your intimate rendezvous. The service suggests you take a moment to log in right after every encounter and fill out a form about the experience, thereby creating a lifelong database of your between-the-sheets activity. Seriously…we’re not making this up.

BedPost includes a “tagging feature” that offers “deeper insight into your activities.” From the looks of it, you can compile the data to compare sessions, times of day, and other equally pressing factors.

The site does promise full privacy of your most personal information.

Our vote: What can you really say about this? It’s a novel and amusing idea, no doubt, and it provides a good laugh — which is why we decided to take a closer look ourselves and share it with you. But would anyone actually use this kind of service? Even if someone were hypothetically keeping this kind of record, why would they do it on an external web site? Honestly, we’d think it were a joke if not for the detailed blog and Twitter feed linked from the site. Sorry, BedPost, but we’ve gotta pass — and in this case, no means no.
