WWE News: WWN And CZW Wrestlers Biff Busick And Rich Swann Signed To WWE Contracts
It has been rumored for some time that WWE would be bringing more Indy talent in this month, as well as at the end of the year. WWE has been rumored to sign several people, but now we have confirmation that there at least two top Indy wrestlers who will be coming into WWE very soon.
Rich Swann is a 24-year-old wrestler who has been working under the WWN banner for some time. He has wrestled since 2009, so despite his young age, he is quite experienced in the world of pro-wrestling. Swann started with CZW before working under the EVOLVE and Dragon’s Gate promotions later on. He has won several big Indy titles. He is a former Open the Owarai Gate Champion, Open the Triangle Gate Champion, and Open the United Gate Champion.
Biff Busick is also quite experienced. At 29, he has been one of the top wrestlers in the world and is known best from his work with CZW. He has been working with the promotion since 2012. He is a former CZW World Heavyweight Champion. He has also worked or places like EVOLVE and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. Interestingly, he was trained by former WWE Superstar Lance Storm, so we all know his wrestling ability is high.
He had a tryout back in January, where it was said that he was well-liked.
While both men have been offered a contract, according to the Wrestling Observer, they still need to pass the medical exams in order to get hired. So the initial contracts may be present, but they will not be offered completely until they pass. So, we do not know if either man will be hired for sure, because anything could appear on the medical testing that WWE does, which is known for being quite intense.
If WWE does bring in both men, we could be in for some interesting material. Clearly, with many of the big stars from WWE NXT moving up, we need others to come in and replace them.
This comes on the heels of WWN officials being in town for WWE NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. It is said that WWN and WWE had a good talk, and that a potential relationship does look likely. However, there has not been a formal announcement as of yet. However, it makes sense to think that both Biff and Rich being signed to deals is a good indication that WWN is happy with WWE, as they are taking two of the biggest stars they have right now.
