WWE Divas ‘Beat The Clock Challenge’ Announced For ‘RAW’

WWE has announced a “Beat The Clock Challenge” for this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW in order to reveal exactly which Diva will challenge Divas Champion Nikki Bella for her title at Night Of Champions in September.

Expected to take part in the “Beat The Clock Challenge” on RAW are all members of Team PCB (Paige, Charlotte, Becky Lynch), which will likely continue to build toward some kind of tension within the group. We don’t yet know, though, who these three Divas will be facing during the challenge, as no further participants have been announced yet by WWE.

The “Beat The Clock Challenge” was officially announced this weekend via WWE’s Facebook page, with announcer Jo-Jo revealing the news.

Jo-Jo noted during the announcement that it is unknown who the opponents will be for Team PCB, so it doesn’t seem as though Team PCB will be wrestling each other (though we can’t confirm that they won’t be). It would seem to make sense for the members of Team B.A.D. (Sasha Banks, Naomi, Tamina Snuka) to be their opponents.

In WWE’s official RAW preview, the company continues to hype up the fact that Nikki Bella is just weeks away from surpassing AJ Lee’s record of 295 days holding the WWE Divas Championship. Nikki won the belt at last year’s Survivor Series on November 23, 2014 in St. Louis, MO.

Bella would surpass AJ if she still possesses the Divas Championship on September 15, as that date would mark 296 days since winning the title. Night Of Champions takes place on September 20, so unless Bella loses the title before the PPV (not likely), she will be breaking AJ’s record. This also seems to make it quite likely that Bella will be losing the belt at Night Of Champions.

It’s no secret that the company isn’t fond of having the Divas Championship record held by the wife of a man who is suing the company (CM Punk). Once Nikki Bella has surpassed AJ Lee’s 295 day title reign, the logical option is to have her drop the Divas belt at the PPV. Therefore, the winner of the “Beat The Clock Challenge” on RAW could very well be your next WWE Divas Champion.

If the plan is to re-energize the so-called “Divas Revolution,” which has slowed down of late on the main roster, a new Divas Champion would go a long way toward doing just that. The division has become stagnant with Bella holding the championship belt for this long, and Sasha Banks, Charlotte, or Becky Lynch would all be solid choices in giving the Divas division some much needed juice.
