‘The Walking Dead’: Huge Spoilers About What’s In Store For Rick Grimes And His Son

Fans of The Walking Dead better get prepared for an explosive midseason finale that’s going to have a huge impact on the Grimes family. Major potential spoilers about The Walking Dead TV series and comic books are ahead, so read on at your own risk.

Spies for the Spoiling Dead Fans Facebook page did an incredible job letting fans of The Walking Dead know what was coming last season, and they’re at it again for Season 6. Some fans hate spoilers, but others prefer to know what’s coming on The Walking Dead — it can reduce the horrible anxiety that is induced by watching a TV series full of shocking moments, and it helps fans mentally prepare for the onscreen deaths of a beloved character.

If you like being prepared for what’s coming, you’ll want to stock up on tissues before the Season 6 midseason finale. Recent spoilers reveal that Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) are both about to experience devastating losses, and some fans might have a hard time watching two characters who have already lost so much lose even more.

According to the Spoiling Dead Fans source, The Grimes’ horrifying ordeal will begin when they find themselves trapped inside a house in Alexandria with a few other survivors. A herd of walkers has invaded the community, and the group decides that the only way to escape is to cover themselves with walker guts in an attempt to blend in with the herd. Sam Anderson (Major Dodson) apparently doesn’t do a good enough job covering himself up and ends up getting eaten. His mother, Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge), proceeds to lose it, and Rick Grimes has to make a horrible decision regarding the life of the new lady in his life.

“Jessie freaks out and attempts to save Sam even though it is a lost cause,” the scene description reads. “She refuses to let go of Carl’s hand while doing so and as she starts falling into walkers Rick chops off her hand/arm.”

“Jessie dies. Ron (Jesse’s other son, played by Austin Abrams) gets super pissed and aims his gun to shoot Rick. Carl notices this and makes an attempt to save Rick and jumps in the way. He gets his eye shot in the process. Michonne immediately kills Ron. Rick grabs Carl and freaks out.”

TheSpoiling Dead Fans points out that this scene description hasn’t been confirmed, but it “could potentially have some validity.” The site also shared photographic evidence that Carl Grimes got his eye shot out.

Den of Geek points out that Carl Grimes also loses his eye in The Walking Dead comic books, but a character named Douglas Monroe is responsible for turning him into a mini-Governor. On the TV series, Douglas has been replaced by Deanna Monroe (Tovah Feldshuh). Rick Grimes also cuts off Jessie’s hand in the comic books.

During an interview with TV Line, Andrew Lincoln hinted that Rick and Jessie won’t get to live happily ever after.

“It’s tough, dating in the apocalypse,” he joked. He also said something that makes it sound like Jessie might be bad news for the neck-chomping Rick who is forced to come out whenever his family is put in danger. If Jessie threatens the Ricktatorship, she has to go.

“Jessie is one of the main reasons that he changes and softens and starts to kind of believe that this [Alexandria] is a viable future.”

Just imagine what Rick Grimes is going to be like after Jessie dies on The Walking Dead TV series.

In the clip below, you can watch the cast react to a question about the possibility of Carl getting a new stepmom. They seem to know that this is something that has no chance of happening, and Sonequa Martin-Green even makes a comment about significant others getting eaten.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 11. Will you be sad if the spoilers are right and Jessie does get killed off?
