Watch 2015 MTV Video Music Awards Live Online: Start Time, Streaming Video Link For VMAs

Viewers can watch the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards live online and see if this year’s event can live up to the hype of past events.

The VMAs have become something of an end-of-summer ritual, known for its surprise performances, big antics, and over-the-top moments.

This year’s ceremony will be aired on MTV this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET. The 2015 VMAs will also be available online through streaming video (links below).

This year’s show promises to be particularly eventful. Longtime show veteran Britney Spears will make an appearance, and many wonder if she can top iconic performances throughout the years.

But much of the attention is coming from the host — none other than Miley Cyrus. Her 2013 performance with Robin Thicke was one of the most memorable in the show’s history.

There are a number of other big performances, including ones from Beauty Behind the Madness breakout star, The Weeknd. There will also be performances from Pharrell, Demi Lovato, Tori Kelly, Twenty One Pilots with A$AP Rocky, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

Justin Bieber will also be on hand to debut his new single, “What Do You Mean?”

There could be even more drama for those who watch the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards live online. As Spin noted, some of the drama started weeks before the show actually airs.

“Well, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift got into a bit of a fight on Twitter after the nominations were announced and Minaj’s iconic ‘Anaconda’ video didn’t get nominated for the Video of the Year award. ‘If I was a different “kind” of artist, “Anaconda” would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well,’ she tweeted. ‘When the “other” girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination.’ Swift thought she was being shaded, but Minaj was actually speaking to a much larger issue of the problem with ‘White Feminism.’ They worked it out, but it remains a noteworthy issue, and there’s a chance it’ll come up during the show.”

For those interested in the awards themselves, a full list of nominees can be found here.

The nominees for the night’s biggest award, the Video of the Year, include as follows.

  • Beyoncé — “7/11”
  • Ed Sheeran — “Thinking Out Loud”
  • Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar — “Bad Blood”
  • Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars — “Uptown Funk”
  • Kendrick Lamar — “Alright”
