Justin Bieber lookalike Tobias Strebel, who appeared on the plastic surgery docu-series Botched, devoted time and thousands of dollars to appear as much as possible like his idol. But after missing for several days, Tobias was found dead in a budget rate motel room. The young man who longed to look like Justin was 35, reported MSN.
In his Bieber lookalike quest, Strebel spent more than $100,000. But his belief that looking like the singer would mean the perfect life ended in a California Motel 6, where drugs also were discovered.
Known also as Toby Sheldon, the young man who looked remarkably like Justin made an impression both on Botched and My Strange Addiction. As to why Tobias wanted to be a Bieber lookalike, he explained on one of his TV show appearances.
"What brought me to Bieber was the whole package: the full cheeks, the full temples, the bright open eyes, the full luscious lips and spacial framing. [He's] just extraordinarily beautiful."Tobias also dreamed of becoming a singer someday like Justin. The Bieber lookalike revealed what he had done to transform his appearance so dramatically, reported Entertainment Weekly. Strebel had a chin reduction, lip surgery, hair transplants, and other procedures that totaled more than 10. Tobias was candid about his decision to look like Justin, also appearing on Bethenny Frankel's now-cancelled talk show as well as medical talk show The Doctors.
The Bieber lookalike believed that he had the potential to follow in his idol's footsteps.
"The gift of writing music is not something you can learn. You can have to have that inner creativity; you have to have something to say. You have to be lyrically gifted," said Strebel. "You have to know what's catchy. It's just something I've come to master."
