Little Mix Premiere Breakup Song ‘Hair’: Is It A Message To Zayn Malik?
Little Mix released a new buzz single off their upcoming album, Get Weird. The popular British girl group premiered the ultimate breakup song, “Hair,” on Thursday, Aug. 27. Some reports claim the song leaked before its official release. It was due for release on Friday in some parts of the globe.
The four girls of Little Mix: Jade, Jesy, Leigh-Anne, and Perrie are bringing their sassiness back with this third album. “Hair” is about to be a club banger.
The British pop tarts have been teasing fans about their new song, “Hair,” all week by posting fun clips and photos on social media. Little Mix’s fans will be happy to hear this new song since it’s the ultimate breakup song. Not only is the beat catchy, but it is the perfect song to listen to if you want to get over someone. Little Mix’s new song now has fans wondering if it’s a direct message to Zayn Malik.

Little Mix’s new song, “Hair,” includes sassy lyrics like: “He was just a d**k and I knew it/Got me going sad in this chair/But I don’t care/Gotta get him out my hair.”
But, wait, there’s more! There’s even lyrics that hint Perrie was pushed to the edge by her boyfriend and had to break up with him.
“I’ve tried everything but it’s useless/He pushed me so far, now I’m on the edge/Make him disappear. Gotta get him out of my hair.”
Little Mix’s fans, aka “Mixers,” want to know if it’s a message to Zayn Malik. The former One Direction star is known for switching up his own hair, especially after breaking up with his boy band and ending his engagement to Perrie Edwards.
It’s obvious the track was recorded long before Perrie Edwards and Zayn Malik’s split, but it’s safe to say it was released at the right time. Although the song doesn’t name names, it’s obvious that the singles talk about the ways their exes have treated them wrong.
And every girl out there knows the best way to get over someone is to change up her hairstyle. Little Mix gets it, which is why this song is quickly becoming the ultimate breakup anthem for summer 2015.
The buzz single is available for download and stream as of Friday, Aug. 28. It’s free for fans who have already pre-ordered Little Mix’s new album.
Little Mix has been achieving success in the U.S. with their previous hit “Black Magic.” The single spent three weeks at No. 1, and the foursome toured in the states to promote it. As 1D takes their hiatus next year, Little Mix will take over with their new album release and tour.
“Hair” is the follow-up to the smash single “Black Magic.” Little Mix’s third studio album, Get Weird, is slated for release in November.
