Stepfather Facing Murder Charges After CCTV Footage Captures Him Repeatedly Throwing 3-Year-Old Into Communal Pool, Causing Death [Video]

A vacation trip suddenly goes awry when a 3-year-old girl drowned after repeatedly being thrown into the communal pool at a popular hotel by her stepfather, whose name has not been released, according to the Mirror.

On August 12, while on vacation in Morelia, Mexico, a man took his stepdaughter to the pool while her mother stayed in the hotel room to sleep, not knowing that it was going to be the last time she saw her daughter alive. The young girl was later rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

After an autopsy was conducted on the young child, it was concluded that she died from secondary drowning. Although her stepfather was the only one in sight during the drowning death, no charges were filed until the CCTV footage was later discovered, according to the Daily Mail.

In the video, it captures the horrifying moment the stepfather walked over to the edge of the pool and began undressing the little girl. He then picks her up and violently throws her into the pool. She was seen kicking and desperately trying to keep herself afloat and at one point, she was even reaching her hand out to her stepfather for help.

He wouldn’t help the drowning girl, though. He’d stand in front of her and watched as she struggle to stay at the top of the water for air. After a few seconds, he’d pull her out of the water, only to throw her back in, not giving her ample time to recover from almost drowning.

Although two others arrived at the pool, that didn’t stop the stepfather from continuing his act. He was seen holding the girl in his arms as he jumped in the pool but quickly let her go so that others wouldn’t see. While the pair had their backs turned, he was seen holding the child underwater and dragging her to the end of the pool.

Once they were alone in the pool again, he continued to throw her into the pool, but it ended when she became too weak to stay afloat and ultimately drowned. She was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors desperately tried to save her life, but it was to no avail. The 3-year-old died several minutes after arriving at the hospital.

The toddler’s stepfather is now facing murder charges after repeatedly throwing her into the pool, causing her death. He is currently being held at a jail, where he awaits “further action in relation to the incident.”
