Sons of Anarchy star Tommy Flanagan and Wilfred star Dorian Brown have become the latest members to join the cast of Alex Ranarivelo-directed drama Running Wild. Earlier this week, it was announced that Sharon Stone — the 57-year old actress who made her name in the 1990s with movies such as Basic Instinct and Casino — has already signed for the role of the antagonist in the movie.
According to Variety, Running Wild tells the tale of a widow, Stella Davis, who saves her ranch by working with convicts to rehabilitate a herd of wild horses that have wandered onto her property. Sons of Anarchy star Tommy Flanagan has been recruited to play Ponytail John, the alpha male of the group of convicts, while Dorian Brown has been cast to play Stella. Sharon Stone will play Meredith, the movie’s main villain.
Brown is best known for her role as Kristen Newman in the FX comedy Wilfred, the story of a manic depressive man who inexplicably is the only one who can see his neighbor’s dog as a man in a full-body suit. Flanagan, of course, is best known for playing Filip Telford in the popular FX drama series Sons of Anarchy, nicknamed “Chibs” because of his distinctive facial scars.
Hailing from Glasgow, Tommy Flanagan used to work as a DJ before he switched to acting and is credited with a number of significant roles in movies such as Gladiator and Sin City, but it was with his popularity as a loyal friend to Sons of Anarchy’s protagonist Jackson “Jax” Teller that Flanagan became a household name. Meanwhile, according to the Hollywood Reporter, audiences are set to see much more of him in the coming months, with Flanagan having also signed deals to star in the Benny Boom-directed thriller Wild for the Night and the true-story drama Light Wounds, where the Scottish star will play the father of an Air Force veteran battling schizophrenia.
Apart from acting, Flanagan is also known to be an avid biker and usually spends his free time traveling around the country in his Harley Davidson when he is not grappling with tight schedules. He is known to ride for charity causes with his fellow Sons of Anarchy star Mark Boone Junior, and the pair have often been spotted together on interstate trips. According to Broadway World, Flanagan was recently present at a Harley giveaway competition that was held halfway between Baltimore and Washington.
