Ronda Rousey Mocks Floyd Mayweather Over Alleged Illiteracy, Claims To Make More Money
“Rowdy” Ronda Rousey has harsh words for Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr., and some may feel the UFC Women’s Bantam Weight Champion just hit below the belt!
It’s no secret that Ronda isn’t exactly a fan of Floyd. Their bizarre rivalry began in response to the boxing champ calling her a “he” during an interview in 2014. Afterwards, Rousey brought up Mayweather’s poor treatment of women and even called him out during the 2015 ESPY Awards. If you thought that was the end of it, you were wrong.

According to an interview TMZ Sports, “Rowdy” Ronda still thinks the worst of “Money” Floyd.
“I actually did the math and, given the numbers of my last fight, I’m actually the highest-paid UFC fighter, and I’m a woman. I think I actually make two to three times more than he does per second…so when he learns to read and write, he can text me.”
In case you didn’t know, Floyd allegedly has an illiteracy problem. This accusation was originally brought to the public’s attention by rapper 50 Cent, who seemed to have a “beef” with Mayweather for a while. To humiliate Floyd, 50 Cent offered to donate thousands to charity if the boxer could get through a single page of a Harry Potter book.
Since then, the fact that Floyd Mayweather is super rich but can’t read has become something of an internet meme — A meme that Ronda Rousey apparently is more than aware of.
If you’re expecting these two to throw down in the ring to settle their differences, then prepare to be disappointed. It’s not likely that the UFC women’s champ and undisputed boxing champ will ever actually square off. Perhaps at some point the two will bury the hatchet…but apparently, that won’t be anytime soon.
Complex Sports reports that Mayweather has already responded to the newest diss by Rousey. The boxer claims that try as she might, Ronda will never “reach his status”. Expect more back-and-forth verbal sparring in the near future.

Both fighters will have cease-fire at some point. Ronda Rousey has a fight coming up against undefeated boxer/kickboxer Holly Holm. Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather will step back into the ring to face Andre Berto. Curiously, both individuals have taken harsh criticism for their choice of opponents, with some thinking that Floyd and Ronda are both dodging tougher rivals.
In the case of Rousey, it’s entirely possible that she will face No. 1 contender (and long-time rival) Meisha Tate at some point.
As for Floyd Mayweather, there’s a chance he may retire before satisfying the curiosity of boxing fans over which up-and-coming stars he would struggle against.
