Amy Schumer And Jennifer Lawrence Are Gonna Be Sisters, Actresses Write New Screenplay

Thirty-four-year-old comedienne Amy Schumer and actress Jennifer Lawrence, 25, hit it off after meeting a few months ago. Now they’ve started writing a screenplay together, wherein they will be co-starring as sisters.

Jennifer Lawrence met with a reporter of the New York Times yesterday for an interview about her final act as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, showing on November 20. Lawrence casually broke the news that she is writing a comedic screenplay with Amy Schumer.

Lawrence and Schumer already finished about 100 pages of the screenplay, “We play sisters,” Lawrence said. “We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us.”

They met when Lawrence–who is a big fan of Amy Schumer– sent her an email after she watched Shumer’s film, Trainwreck, in July.

“I emailed her after I saw ‘Trainwreck'” Lawrence said,” I don’t know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I’m in love with you,” she also added.

Schumer started emailing her as well and it turned into texting. They hit it off immediately and in early August, Schumer invited Lawrence to join her and some high school friends in the Hamptons for jet skiing.”I was like, ‘Oh, we’re going on a boat tomorrow. You should come.’ It was kind of a hypothetical,” Amy Schumer explained on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, “And she was like, ‘I think I’m coming.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God!'”

“We really hit it off, to say the least,” Lawrence said.

As for the new screenplay, which has a good chance of being a hit given the popularity of these two ladies, Jennifer Lawrence said she and Amy Schumer were “creatively made for each other” despite their quite different flavors.

“It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up,” Lawrence added.

They will also be working with Amy Schumer’s sister, Kim Caramele, who worked with her on past projects. Lawrence is reportedly flying to Chicago to meet Amy Schumer and continue working on their screenplay together.
