Russell Brand Unfollows Katy Perry on Twitter

Comedian Russell Brand has finally brought himself to take the final step in his divorce from pop sensation Katy Perry. He is finally splitting with her forever…on Twitter.

“Access Hollywood” reported Sunday, that nearly five months after Brand filed for divorce from his wife of 18 months, the comedian has unfollowed his ex,. It took Brand a little longer to get over Perry apparently. Perry unfollowed Brand’s @rustyrockets account almost immediately after he filed for divorce. Perry pressed the button less than a month after their split.

Despite the unfollowing going on on Twitter, the tabloids have been ripe with reports that Brand has been trying to reconcile with Perry. Rumor has it Brand sent the 27-year-old singer an “emotional email” trying to get her back according to the Huffington Post.

Brand is not hurting for followers on his Twitter account. He has more than 4.6 million followers. But Brand is only down to 73 people on his “following” list, including his “Get Him to the Greek” co-star Jonah Hill, Alec Baldwin, Ellen DeGeneres and comedian Louis C.K.

Brand and Perry got divorced in February. Brand had originally filed for divorce from Perry back in December of last year. The couple had only been together for 14 months. Apparently the split was amicable. Perry signed the divorce documents with a little smiley face after her name.

Also, Brand had the ability to really take Perry to the cleaners. Because they got married with no prenuptial agreement, Brand was entitled to half the family assets (Perry is rumored to be worth about $64 million dollars) yet he asked for no monetary compensation. Brand also gave Perry the $6.5 million dollar home they purchased together when they were married.
