Joy Behar & Candace Cameron Bure Join ‘View’: Candace Dishes Lesbian Wedding Cake Clash & Joy Targets Trump & Duggars [Video]

Joy Behar and Candace Cameron Bure are headed to the new season of The View. Both stars are excited about the opportunity to voice their views, but have very different approaches on the focus. While Candace recently earned attention for clashing about a lesbian wedding cake, for example, Joy is planning to be outspoken about what she sees as the hottest topics.

Behar is preparing her ammunition for some very special topics on September 8, when The View premieres and begins broadcasting live daily. And on the talk show, get ready for Joy to dish on the Duggar family and Donald Trump, according to ABC News.

And although Behar is reutrning, she admitted that she enjoyed her hiatus.

“I spent two years where I didn’t ever have to think about Kim Kardashian or the Duggars and it was really kind of nice,” joked Joy.

Although Behar exited The View in 2013 after a 16-season run, she admitted she that she did have a great time. And with something old comes something new, as Candace Cameron and Paula Faris also will become co-hosts.

“I thought let me go back and try and have some more fun. That’s why I’m back,” said the 72-year-old.

In addition to Joy, Paula, and Candace Cameron Bure, those now on the panel including Whoopi Goldberg, Raven-Symone, and Michelle Collins will remain.

But it’s Joy who ranks as the survivor of Barbara Walters’ original talk show.

In addition to Joy, look for contributors ranging from previously split Sherri Shepherd to Padma Lakshmi and Molly Sims. And Behar already knows her targets.

“Look, what’s going on with Donald Trump right now, you know, and you just talked about the Duggars and how it’s not a very good idea, it’s not godly for a woman to be angry,” said Joy of a GMA story. “I think I’m going to show that it is godly for a woman to be angry.”

As for Candace Cameron Bure, look for her to be as passionate as she was during a recent heated debate on The View, when she and Raven-Symoné argued about an Oregon bakery’s refusal to concoct a cake for a lesbian wedding, reported E! News.

Whoopi noted that the bakery owners were requested to give the couple who didn’t get their cake $135,000.

“I don’t think this is discrimination at all, this is about freedom of association, it’s about constitutional rights, it’s about First Amendment rights,” argued Candace. “I refuse to associate myself with you right now.”

The Christian actress emphasized that she wanted to focus on religious freedom in her debate.

“I wanted to be as truthful and honest and speak in love as much as I could, but just be factual about things,” said Candace.

“I wasn’t there to debate gay marriage or straight marriage. It was about these bakers and their religious freedoms and the freedom of association.”
